Recently, Kim and I took a day to refresh our design palettes by exploring a handful of buzzed-about local boutiques and shops in Seattle.. And boy were we in heaven! We started at the design center and worked our way out of Georgetown into Madison Park, where we also stopped for a delicious lunch at Madison Kitchen (seriously, you need to try this place!), took our full tummies to Capitol Hill, made our way on over to Ballard, and ended our journey in Greenwood. From high end furnishings to unique consignment finds, we saw a lot and want to share with you some of our faves:

RED TICKING | Madison Park (featured above) | @redticking

A cute little gift shop right on Madison St, Red Ticking features fabrics, dishware, and accessories for your home and lifestyle. It has a light and airy coastal vibe to it, making you feel like you just teleported from Seattle to Nantucket. It’s charm and well curated merchandise are the reasons it made our favorites list!

PLANTATION DESIGN | Capitol Hill | @plantationdesign_seattle

So. Flippin. Fabulous. If you haven’t stopped into Plantation Design already, this place is a MUST! It’s no wonder the owners chose the vibrant, busy neighborhood of Cap Hill when looking to add a storefront to Seattle– this furniture boutique originated from LA and screams luxury design. It’s bright colors, transitional pieces, fun accessories, and unique lighting fixtures are why we are total fan-girls of this local shop.

CAMELION DESIGN | Ballard | @camelion_design

Camelion Design lives true to its name – it is constantly changing! Being a resident of Ballard, I am always popping in to find gifts for friends’ birthdays, smell their candles, or just browse all their pretty things. I’m guessing they rearrange or refresh the shop every season but I swear every time I’m in there it feels different. Which is probably why I’m always coming back, because it feels like I’m stepping into a brand new shop. Camelion design offers a range of furniture, lighting, rugs, case goods, and accessories – all cohesively put together in their charming Ballard storefront.

ANDERS SHOP | North Ballard | @andersshop

Tucked amongst the North Ballard neighborhood sits a simple, clean, and sustainable boutique that is Anders Shop. It’s right off the beaten path of several local eateries (The Fat Han, Frankie & Jo’s, The Pantry) so if you’re in the area we recommend you stop by! Everything in the shop is equally chic and eco-friendly. That’s right – EVERYTHING in the store is sustainably sourced, so you don’t have to worry about buying anything that has harmful chemicals or was made in a sweat shop. Which is why it’s one of our faves!

ADORN | Greenwood | @rruby_adorn

Adorn is near and dear to our heart because we have gotten to know the owner, Renate Ruby, over the course of the last six months. We first met her when we took our first trip to High Point Market last fall. She was leading a group of Seattle based designers through the wonderful world of High Point and we got invited along for the ride. Renate has grown her beloved design boutique and recently moved into a new storefront in Greenwood. We immediately gravitated towards Renate because she was trying to fill a void in the market that we have long been trying to find – high end quality without the high end price tag. Her shop is filled with quality furniture pieces, bedding, fabric swatches galore, and many different styles of case goods, and accessories to fit anyone’s taste. Her commitment and passion to design shows through in her storefront, making it one of our local faves!

BONUS: BALLARD CONSIGNMENT | @ballardconsignment

Ok ok ok I know I said 5 of our favorite shops but it was way too hard to narrow all the shops we saw down to only 5! Ballard Consignment gets a special bonus feature because it had so many eclectic, antique, and new pieces at great prices I couldn’t resist. A great example is the scooter console table above – how funky is that?! Even if you’re not furniture shopping Ballard Consignment is still a joy to walk through. For one, it’s massive! I swear you could get lost in there. For two, it features more than just furniture – vintage cookware, pillows, lighting, rugs, and many other charming accessories.
